Here are some of the colors of Lake Chuzenji-ko... close to Nikko.

We wanted to go for the day and return to Tokyo that night. But the bus trip from Nikko was about 3 hours. The road up the mountain had about 80 switchbacks (like the road to Hanna, Maui). When we got out of the bus, it was getting dark, it was cold, and we didn't have any place to stay. But, it turned out alright, because we got to spend the entire next day in this autumn paradise.
