This truck was just drivin' down the road with what looks like a "what to do in the case of an earthquake" picture paintedon its side. I actually experienced a major tremor the first month I was here. Pretty scary.

There are plenty of fresh fruit and vegetable shops around... this one sells grains and such.

You can't really tell from this shot - but the Daibutsu is huge. It means "Big Buddha" You can actually go inside of it.

Just to let my friends in Hawaii know what the beach looks like on the East coast of Japan. Don't rush over for the surf or sand - Hawaii is still better!

This is at the opening of most buddhist temples I've seen. Apparently, you should wash up before entering the temple. Strange isn't it? uhh, but don't the catholics do the same?
